In 2017 Poetry People delivered Lines from the Landscape, supported by Suffolk Secrets, a project designed to encourage children to write about their local landscape and explore what it's like to live in the most easterly county.

Poetry People to ran six days of poetry workshops, led by Dean Parkin, in six primary schools in the AONB area. Dean worked with 658 pupils (over 200 more than anticipated) and inspired hundreds of new poems about the local landscape which were entered into the 2017 Suffolk Young Poets Competition.

These workshop sessions gave us one of this year's ten Suffolk Young Poets Competition winners, Amy Donald (aged 6) from Chelmondiston Primary. A further 18 poets were Commended from the Lines from the Landscape sessions and a rather fine group poem, 'Leiston Secrets' was created by Leiston Primary School Year 5  (right) and given the Poem Poster design treatment by our super designers, Silk Pearce.
